Membership Table
Dear Members,

Beginning a new year of working towards our goal of building a LGBTQ
Community Centre, we would like to invite you to continue to participate as an active member in OUR Spaces Society.

There are many reasons for maintaining an active membership in OUR
Spaces. Our board operates under the bylaws set by the society formed by members like yourself. You set the direction OUR Spaces takes by maintaining an active membership and participating in our general meetings. Your membership dues help us maintain communication tools such as our website and mail box allowing us to participate and runfundraising events. Renewing your membership is essential to our goal because members are the foundation of OUR Spaces.

You can renew it quickly by visiting our website at www.ourspaces.ca and clicking on our membership page. You can also renew in person by
visiting our renewal booth in front of Little Sisters this Saturday,
June 25 and Sunday June 26 between 3:00pm and 5:00 pm, and paying your $5.00 annual membership dues to our team. Some of our directors will be on hand to answer any questions you may have and hear your ideas.

We are excited for the opportunity granted to us to serve you and are
already working hard to acquire the tools to build the centre to
represent our LGBTQ community.

Sincerely,

Sakino Sepúlveda
Co-Chair

Richard Engelhardt
Secretary

Our Voices
A Night of Queer Writing, Music and Culture
a Screaming Weenie event to benefit O.U.R. Spaces
Saturday, 26 February, 2011

Thanks for braving the weather everyone and coming out to be a part of building Vancouver's new GLBTQ Centre. The evening was a huge success and marked our first fund and awareness raising event with a community partner.

We joined forces with Screaming Weenie for the night to celebrate the 100th birthday of the 20th Century's pre-eminent queer playwright Tennessee Williams. And what better way to mark the occasion but with the launch of the publication of local playwright C.E. Gatchalian's book "Crossing & Other Plays".

Featuring performances from drag artist Vera Way, singer/songwriter Kate Reid, musician Hayfa (from Hayfa Makes Music), actor Tanja Dixon-Warren, clips from film versions of Tennessee Williams' plays, a silent auction and a “Stella (and Stanley) Yelling Contest.” Hosted by Seán Cummings. Produced by Screaming Weenie Productions in association with OUR Spaces.
Complimentary food was served and full menu available, licensed bar.

$20 admission. No one was turned away due to lack of funds.
